Satya Nadella: ‘Mr Nice guy’ could terminate first as Microsoft’s next CEO. Everyone seems to love Nadella, seen as a modest, down-to-earth guy who is good at the building relationships. But this ‘polite guy’ won’t have it easy.
All rounder, humble, shy, collaborative, super nice, very technical, deeply engaged a visionary leader and strong willed. Though, if all these are qualities that the Microsoft board is looking for in its third chief, after the founder Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer, Hyderabad-born Satya Nadella is right man for that job.
That’s how friends, colleagues, and a cross section of industry leaders and technology industry watchers describe 45 year old Nadella. Calling Nadella “among the brightest brains at Microsoft”, Ravi Venkatesan, former chairman of Microsoft India, said “Nadella’s power lies in building relationships.”
Nadella fought with hard battles within Microsoft and brought in group effort within teams,” says Staten James, vice president & principal analyst Forrester research. On what makes Nadella a frontrunner for the CEO Job, James adds, “Microsoft’s culture is the unique and take an outsider relatively a while to recognize and affect change upon. Nadella has already shown that he can make the kind of change needed for Microsoft.” Read the full story here…
The Facebook phenomenon will ultimately demise, according to the study by the Princeton University.
The Researchers, who are using diseases to model of the life-cycles of social media, discover it much like an infectious disease that spreads swift and dies out of blues.
The Disease models are able to use to recognize the mass adoption and successive flight from online social networks, according to that study by the Princeton’s Department of the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
The study has not been look closely reviewed.
Updating customary models on the disease extend to assume that “recovery” requires contact with non-diseased member—a “recovered,” non-user of Facebook —researchers predicted, Facebook will notice a quick decline, causing the site to lose 80% of its peak user base between 2015 and 2017.
Fundamentally,( if the model is correct) users will lose interest in Facebook after a while as their peers lose interest.
“Ideas, like diseases, have been shown to spread infectiously between people before ultimately dying out, and have been effectively described with the epidemiological models,” reads the study.
Google Inc experienced a service outage on Friday that in brief took down Gmail, Internet email service that used by hundreds of millions of people and many businesses across the world.
Google, which first recognized the outage at 11:12 am Pacific Time (19:12 GMT), said nearly one hour later that service had been restored for several users and it expected “a resolution for all users in near future.”
It remained vague what triggered the outage, which influenced the users in at least Britain, India and the United States and prompted a flow of complaints on the Twitter from users in many other countries.
“We are investigating reports of a problem with Gmail. We will give more information shortly,” the company said on its “App Status” dashboard online, which tracks the state of different Google services.
Two further Google properties, the social network YouTube and Google Plus, appeared to load slowly too.
Yahoo Inc, which runs the rival Internet mail service, seized the moment to post screenshot of the Gmail error page to the Twitter.
Users of Google attempting to sign on saw a “temporary error” message and a short note: For Example – “We are sorry, but your Gmail account is temporarily unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience/trouble and suggest you trying again in a few minutes.”
